The Central PA Civil War Round Table will meet on Tuesday evening, August 3, at the Mt. Nittany United Methodist Church, 1500 E. Branch Road, in State College.
This will be a turkey dinner meeting beginning at 6:00 p.m. The program will follow at 7:00 p.m. To enjoy the turkey dinner with all the trimmings and a dessert, reservations can be made by contacting Alice Fitch at 814-237-1864. The cost is $11.00.
The program speaker is Penn State University’s military historian, Dr. Carol Reardon, who will speak on “The Ghost of Jomini: Thoughts on Military Strategy during the Civil War.”

Join the Epilepsy Foundation Western/Central PA for the 8th Annual Harrisburg Senators Family Fun Run/Walk for Epilepsy on Saturday, August 7, 2010! You can register as a team or as an individual, in fact, you can even be a virtual walker if you are unable to make it to the event. The 5k run/2 mile walk around City Island and Riverfront Park can work up your appetite for our wonderful tailgate party afterwards. All you have to do is raise $30.00. There are great prizes for the top 3 team earners and the top 3 individual earners. Plus, you can earn amazing prizes depending on how much money you have raised.
By raising money at this event, you can help the more than 26,000 people in south central Pennsylvania who live with epilepsy/seizure disorders every day. Help make every step count for epilepsy!

Saturday July 17 Meet at County Line Restaurant in Richfield by 3:30 pm Parade starts at 4:00 pm.
Saturday August 7 Meet at Rickenbaugh Building supply in McAlisterville by 4:00 Parade starts at 4:30pm. |

Has your green thumb overwhelmed you with a mountain of fresh fruits and vegetables! Never fear, the Juniata County Food Pantry is here! We serve over 600 people in need every month who would greatly appreciate your surplus produce. So if your garden is overflowing with crops you can’t use, please share them with us! You may drop off donations any time we are open: Monday 1-4, Tuesday and Thursday 3-6 or Saturday 10-1. We are located in the former Stong’s Auto Parts building at 114 N. Main St. in Mifflintown.
